York College of Pennsylvania will launch a chatbot from its website (www.ycp.edu) in mid-February to provide 24/7 access to information for various departments.
“This will provide access and answers to questions 24/7 for our students,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management Brian Hazlett. “Our future students can now get information about the College at any time, even outside of our regular business hours.”
Accessible from phones or desktop computers, the chatbot will be programmed to provide information from key areas of interest to prospective families and current students, including Admissions, Academic Advising, Residence Life (Housing), Financial Aid, and Student Activities and Orientation.
“The chatbot will provide quick answers for current students during office hours and will also allow our prospective students from around the world to access information regardless of their time zone,” Hazlett added.
