Requesting Housing Accommodations

  • Step 1: Submit a Housing Application in "My Housing" and Pay Housing Deposit

Before requesting housing accommodations, you first must complete a housing application in the MyYCP portal under “My Housing” and pay your housing deposit for the upcoming school year.

Housing accommodations are approved for the length of one academic year (fall - summer semester). The student is responsible for submitting their request for re-evaluation and approval with Student Accessibility Services each year by the established due dates. If current on-campus housing options are not available that meet the accommodation needs, the student will be added to a waiting list and the eligible accommodation will be filled as soon as possible.

  • Step 2: Submit a Housing Accommodation Request Application

To request housing accommodations once your housing application and deposit have been paid, you must fill out the Student Accessibility Services Housing Accommodation Request Application through our management system, AIM.

You will self-disclose all information related to your disability and conditions for which you are requesting accommodations. All information and supporting documentation submitted during the application process is kept confidential in the Student Accessibility Services office and accommodations are only shared with those departments necessary to implement the student’s eligible accommodations.

  • Step 3: Provide Documentation

You will submit all documentation you would like reviewed and considered for housing accommodations in relation to your disability and conditions. Documentation can be uploaded directly into our AIM system during the application process.

Please refer to Student Accessibility Services' Documentation Guidelines for further information about documentation that may be helpful in determining reasonable accommodations.

If you need information on obtaining a referral to a local provider, please contact Student Accessibility Services at sas@ycp.edu or 717.815.1717.

  • Step 4: Meet with Student Accessibility Services

Once you have completed the Student Accessibility Services Housing Accommodation Request Application and submitted related documentation, you will receive an email through AIM to schedule an intake meeting with staff from Student Accessibility Services. This meeting is an individualized and interactive process to determine your eligibility for reasonable accommodations.

  • Don't Forget! — Request Your Housing Accommodations Each Year

You must request a re-evaluation of housing accommodations through Student Accessibility Services each school year by the established dates.
