Student teaching through the York College education program

Middle Level Education

Specialize in one of four content areas in this major for future teachers in grades 4-8

Great teachers happen when you combine a passion for education and the knowledge, skills, and classroom experience needed to make an impact. At York College, we work tirelessly with you to make that a reality through field experience, student teaching, expert faculty, and the ability to specialize in one of four content areas in the Middle Level (grades 4-8) program.

Middle Level majors can study one of four concentration areas: English/Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies. This degree prepares students for professional teacher certification in grades 4-8; graduates can teach any core subject in grades 4-6 and content-specific areas in grades 7-8.
