York College Galleries

Bringing national and international artists to York. Showcasing our students' artistry.

York's art scene is expanding and thriving, and York College Galleries are at the heart of it. The on-campus galleries, in addition to York College's recent acquisition of Marketview Arts gallery in downtown York, gives our students, faculty, alumni and guest artists professional and inviting space to showcase their work. The adjacent Cora Miller and Brossman Galleries located inside Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall (located to your immediate left when using the main campus entrance) are where most of our major exhibitions are held. Marketview Arts is used for First Friday exhibitions, special events, and more.

In recent years, we've hosted exhibitions by New York-based MacArthur Fellow Judy Pfaff; a major installation by Los Angeles-based Wayne White of PeeWee’s Playhouse fame; an incredible 5-channel video installation and timely street performance by Chicago-based Jefferson Pinder; Sculpture magazine-reviewed exhibitions by Andi Steele and Carol Prusa of North Carolina and Florida respectively, as well as lectures by Rita Duffy of Northern Ireland, Diane Burko of Philadelphia and Deana Haggag, director The Contemporary in Baltimore. Notable graphic designers such Rick Valicenti, Ellen Lupton, Paul Sahre, Post Typography, and Matteo Bologna have also lectured here. And that's not to mention incredible work by students, especially during our senior exhibitions as our upcoming graduates display all they've learned while studying at York College.
