Your journey as a Spartan begins when you apply. Applying to York College is easy. Just follow the steps below.

    Ready to apply? Our rolling admissions policy means you may begin the application process when you're ready - on your time. And, whether you are entering as a freshman or a transfer student our free online application process makes it that much easier.

  • Submit Transcripts and Scores

    Submit Your Transcripts and Test Scores

    We are so excited to review your application. First, we need your transcripts and test scores.

    • Submit an official transcript of your secondary school grades.
    • Take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) of the College Entrance Examination Board or the American College Testing Program (ACT) by January of your senior year. Information about the examinations may be obtained from your high school guidance office.
    • You are invited to upload letters of recommendation and supporting documents to your application.
    • If you have received college credits at another higher ed institution, you will need to submit an official transcript.

    Ready to be Spartan?

    1. Your deposit indicates acceptance of admission.
    2. Enter your ID number and PIN.
    3. Pay the following amount.
      $200 for on campus housing & submit your housing contract.
      $100 for commuter students.
    4. The FALL housing contract is available for submission after February 1st.

    * Note: Nursing Track 1 is full for Fall 2017. Any deposits will be for Track 2.

Accepted Student Day

Accepted Student Day marks the first step in your successful transition to York College.
  • Why Attend?

    On this day, you will:

    • Get a more in-depth experience on the York College campus. You'll get a Spartan Talks (mini-lessons) experience with professors, talk directly with students and advisors from dozens of clubs and organizations, and get extensive opportunities to talk with your academic department/Undeclared advising!image for vtabs
    • Have ample time to figure out any lingering financial aid issues, as well as hear about commuters and residence life
    • Give your parents a chance to hear from current York College parents
    • Be eligible to win a $500 York College Bookstore gift card if you have your deposit in by the end of the day (Already deposited? You're eligible, but you have to attend to win!)
  • Program of Events

    8:15 Check-in and Refreshments at Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center
    9 a.m. Welcome Session with Dr. Gunter-Smith and other York College officials
    10 a.m. /11 a.m. Freshmen: You'll either start off with Spartan Talks, a classroom experiences led by YCP faculty OR you'll attend a Generation Next overview - the core of our liberal arts approach. Then you'll alternate for the second session. Transfers: You'll start off with Spartan Talks and then attend a session on procedures you need to know, such as credit transfer and scheduling.
    10 a.m./11 a.m.  Parents/Families: You'll hear from Student Life about what your student will experience as either a resident or as a commuter student. Then for the second session, you'll have your pick from programs on Leadership Engagement, Money Matters, or current parents.
    Noon You'll be assigned to start with either lunch or the Academic Fair, where you can meet with academic departments. You'll also be able to browse the art gallery, library, and bookstore. The lunch session will then alternate.
    2 p.m. Student involvement fair, with dozens of clubs, organizations, and campus departments represented.  We'll also have a special gift for anyone who has made a deposit, either prior to attending or that day! Those students will also be entered into a drawing for a $500 bookstore gift card! Turn in your evaluation of the day, and you'll get a complimentary York College license plate frame!
    Other options We'll have residence hall tours available from 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. You can also get your student ID photo taken with Campus Safety, talk with Residence Life about housing, and meet with staff from the Business Office and Financial Aid for any payment/scholarship/financial aid issues.
