Naylor Workshop for Undergraduate Research in Writing Studies
2020 WORKSHOP POSTPONED: The 2020 Naylor Workshop, scheduled for September 25–27, 2020, is postponed due to uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak. But the work of the Naylor Workshop will continue this year.
Become part of a local network of undergraduate students from institutions around the country (and the world), including experienced and new undergraduate researchers guided by mentor faculty members at the Naylor Workshop for Undergraduate Research in Writing Studies.
During this workshop, you will work one-on-one with writing researchers in the fields of composition, rhetoric, writing center studies, and any field related to literacy to discuss research goals and methodologies. In this intensive workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to move your proposed or ongoing research project forward toward possible presentation or publication, working side by side with national experts in writing studies, who act as mentors. During the workshop, you’ll learn more about refining your research question and how to apply qualitative and quantitative research methods in ways that will enrich your study.
Independent workshop time will allow you to construct or develop a research study and to receive authentic feedback and recommendations from writing researchers and fellow undergraduate researchers.
