York College of Pennsylvania’s Symphony Orchestra, Chorale, and Chamber Singers will present “Into the Great Unknown” at 3 p.m., Nov. 13, in the Waldner Performing Arts Center. The performance is open to the public free of charge.

Led by Professor of Music Matthew Inkster, the Symphony Orchestra will present well-loved works by Rossini, Copland, and Elgar. The Orchestra includes Music major, non-Music majors, and musicians from York and the surrounding area.

The Chamber Singers’ performance, conducted by Associate Professor of Music Grace Muzzo, will feature songs with the theme of heaven. Muzzo also conducts the Chorale.

The Chorale and Orchestra will combine to perform Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo’s “Spheres,” concluding the concert with “Toward the Unknown Region” by Ralph Vaughan Williams. Set to Walt Whitman's poem, “Darest Thou Now, O Soul,” this work is a tribute to the 150th anniversary of Vaughan William's birth on Oct. 12, 1872.
