York College of Pennsylvania has hired Daniel Kreiman as its first Sustainability Coordinator.

Kreiman earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability from Allegheny College in 2019 and a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability from Miami University (Ohio) in 2021.

At Miami, he conducted a comparative analysis of climate action plans from similar institutions to organize and present data that allowed the University’s Climate Action Task Force to easily understand what other institutions did. Miami University’s Climate Action Task Force will use his work to make decisions in their climate action plan, which is being released in 2024.

“The Sustainability Coordinator works collaboratively with students, faculty, administrators, and staff to coordinate, develop, and promote effective sustainability initiatives to reduce the College’s environmental impact,” said Jennifer Pomeroy, Associate Professor of Geography and Chair of the President’s Task Force for Campus Sustainability at York College. “The past three years, we did as much groundwork as possible. With Dan onboard, the YCP community will be able to work together on creating our own Climate Action Plan, which will be the roadmap moving YCP toward carbon neutrality.”
