York College Fall Fest and Homecoming Weekend (Sept. 30 and Oct. 1) to include 5K and Kids Fun Run, athletic competitions, music performances, and Step Show

Fall Fest Festive

York College’s Fall Fest and Homecoming Weekend – held on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 – will include a variety of activities for parents of students, alumni, and members of the local community.

The following events are open to the public. All but the 5K are free of charge.

The YCP 5K and Fun Run, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations, will be held on Oct. 1 at the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center. The free Spartakids Fun Run for children 12 and under will begin at 8 a.m.; the 5K will begin at 8:30 a.m. Cost with preregistration at www.ycp.edu/fallfest is $10 for students; $25 for York College alumni and employees, and community members; and $30 on the day of the event. Athletic events scheduled on Oct. 1 include: noon – Women’s Soccer versus Widener; 1 p.m. – Field Hockey versus Albright; and 3 p.m. – Men’s Soccer versus Widener.

A Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Main Campus lawn will feature student organizations and live music by Rhapsody, the College’s a cappella group, from 11 a.m. until noon, and by Matt Walden from noon until 2 p.m. The annual Step Show, a display of the rhythmic and precise stepping of historically black Greek fraternities and sororities, will begin at 2 p.m. on the Main Campus lawn.

The Division of Music will present a Prism Concert at 4 p.m. in the Waldner Performing Arts Center. The program will feature a wide range of talented performers from the York College Division of Music, including students, faculty, large and small ensembles.
