York College of Pennsylvania Welcomes Largest Incoming Class in Six Years
Enrollment momentum continues as York College of Pennsylvania is proud to welcome its newest incoming class.
More than 900 new first-year students and over 150 transfer students are arriving this fall, extending the college's multi-year run of enrollment growth.
Forty percent of this year's class identify as first-generation college students, reflecting York's continued investment in access and support for students who are the first in their families to attend college. That same commitment shows up in the transfer class as well. More than 150 transfer students are enrolling this fall, drawn by York's transfer credit pathways and its reputation for helping students finish strong once they arrive.
The class also brings a real geographic range. Thirty-three percent of students are arriving from outside Pennsylvania, and the group represents 28 states in all, with students traveling from as far away as Hawaii, California, Arizona, Florida, Maine, and Michigan. Much of that reach traces back to York's growing use of direct admissions platforms like the Common App and Niche, which have opened the door for students who might not have found York otherwise.
“These students chose York College because they see the value of a high-quality, affordable education that prepares them for real-world success,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing Dr. Brian Hazlett. “We're proud to welcome one of the most dynamic and geographically diverse classes in recent memory.”
The increase in commitments marks the strongest enrollment momentum for the college since 2019, underscoring York College’s ability to attract students seeking both academic excellence and affordability in higher education.
Move-in day for first-year students is Thursday, August 20. York College is excited to welcome this unique class.
