York College has really become part of my DNA. Not only did my York College experience teach me how to meet, interact and bond with my peers, professors, and school employees, it enabled me to be myself and feel comfortable with the fact that those who work hard, persevere and open their minds to other opinions will eventually succeed. Simply put, York College believed in me when others didn't

Robert “Bob” Dee Jr. ’86 has been with Crompco LLC for more than 17 years. Formerly the COO, Dee is now the President and oversees over 250 employees that support customers nationwide. They specialize in assisting large and small convenience store operators, government entities, and private industries to manage their environmental compliance, standards, and system testing.

Dee most enjoys the people he works with. “Working with and supporting a diverse staff of employees, customers, and suppliers makes every day a challenge and gives me a feeling of accomplishment,” he says. What inspires him as a leader is “assisting employees [to] identify and achieve their goals, and watching those accomplishments feed the success of our company.”

This year, Dee has been recognized with the 2021 York College of Pennsylvania Distinguished Alumni Service Award. This award recognizes exceptional service and commitment to the College. For Dee, that service has been recognized as his giving back to his alma mater as well as his service to his colleagues in his career.

As a Spartan, Dee was very involved. He was active in various intramural sports, a member of Omega Theta Chi, and he wrote for the student newspaper and college magazine. As an alumnus, Dee has been very active in the annual YCP Spring Alumni Golf Outing, the Fall Athletic Department Outing, and he has hosted numerous new student welcome receptions at his home. He has never missed the opportunity to spread the word about the College, and he is very proud to see some of those same students he’s pitched to become fellow Spartans. He also previously served on the York College Collegiate Council for 10 years.

Though Dee has worked hard to become the President of Crompco LLC, he says his greatest achievement is his “24 [years of] marriage to my wonderful wife, Maureen, and raising our three talented and diverse children, Shane, Connor, and Erin.”
