Built for Innovation

York College's Kinsley Engineering Center is home to programs in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. In addition to classrooms and lab spaces, students in these majors have 24/7 card swipe access to the building, including:

  • Study nooks
  • Common areas
  • Lockers
  • Canteen area
  • Vending machines

Located on West Campus, the Kinsley Engineering Center was renovated from a historic factory in 2008 — a project that earned LEED Silver certification, marking it as a "green" building.

Programs in Engineering and Computer Science

York College offers majors in a variety of engineering specializations. Whether you're interested in infrastructure, electronics, or fabrication, there's a program to support your future career goals.

Civil Engineering

The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering degree program at York College of Pennsylvania is the first step in a career with a meaningful daily impact on the everyday lives of people across the globe. Position yourself at the forefront of creating and maintaining the physical frameworks of our communities, such as roads, bridges, airports, tunnels, dams, and essential water and sanitation systems.

Computer Engineering

Computer engineers draw upon mathematics, science and computer science to design computer or microprocessor-controlled devices, systems, and processes. At York College, we focus on embedded systems, which are customized, standalone systems under computer/microprocessor control. You’ll get to work right away with a first-year design project — learning by doing is how we approach education.

Computer Science

At York College, you’ll get intensive training in common programming languages including C/C++, Java, Python, Scheme and several others. Our program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, built on nationally-recognized standards, will give you all the experience, knowledge, and problem-solving skills to confidently apply for careers in the technical or scientific fields of computer science.

Electrical Engineering

Electrical engineers use mathematics and science to design devices, systems, and processes. They work in every industrial and technological sector — including power generation, manufacturing, robotics, smart grids, and renewable energy.

Engineering Management

The Engineering Management major blends business management savvy with technological expertise, combining these desirable skills into one degree.

Mechanical Engineering

Students in York College of Pennsylvania’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering degree program learn by doing, starting their first year. Mechanical Engineering majors gain fantastic real-world experience and even income through a three-semester co-op program with top employers locally and nationally.
