York College of PA to launch Online Bookstore starting with Summer 2023 term

York College of Pennsylvania will launch a new Online Bookstore platform for textbooks and course materials starting with the Summer 2023 term. This new system will allow faculty to easily evaluate and select their course materials, while students will review and order course materials through a school-branded website and have their items shipped to them or to the College’s Bookstore for pick up.

After a thorough review process, Akademos was selected as York College’s exclusive vendor for these services. Akademos has provided students at over 160 schools with many low-cost textbook options through their innovative Online Bookstore, powered by TextbookX, which utilizes state-of-the-art technology to fully integrate with school systems. 

The new platform is designed to provide students with affordable course materials, convenience, and choice. For faculty, the textbook submission process will be intuitive, quick, and expand on their ability to indicate whether they are using traditional course materials, Open Educational Resources (OER), or other nontraditional materials. Students will be able to go to one source to review their full course list and assigned course materials prior to the start of the term.
