York College of PA to host William Yanavitch, Kinsley Enterprises chief human resources officer, for Executive Speaker Series on March 21

York College of Pennsylvania’s Graham School of Business Executive Speaker Series will feature William T. Yanavitch II, Chief Human Resources Officer for Kinsley Enterprises, at 2 p.m., March 21, in Weinstock Lecture Hall, Willman Business Center. His talk, “Successful Leadership: Mastering Organizational Strategies in a Changing Environment” is open to the public free of charge.

Prior to serving in his current position, Yanavitch established a successful human resource consulting firm, Yanavitch & Associates, LLC. In 2017, he retired after 16 years of service as an Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for Glatfelter, a $1 billion NYSE-listed global producer of fiber-based engineered materials. His professional career includes leadership assignments with DENTSPLY Sirona, Goulds Pumps, and the Ingersoll Rand Company. He serves as a Director with the Commonwealth Fire Protection Company and on the Advisory Board for New Standard Corporation, including Chairman of the Compensation Committee.

A Pennsylvania native, Yanavitch grew up in Waverly, N.Y. He attended Cornell University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations in 1982. His continued studies include leadership programs with the Center for Creative Leadership, Dale Carnegie, and the Conference Board.

Active in community service, Yanavitch is the current Chairman for Penn Mar Human Services, Chairman for the Wellspan York Health Foundation, and the immediate past Chairman of the York County Economic Alliance. He also serves on the Board of Governors for the Country Club of York, and the Penn State York Advisory Board. In 2019, Yanavitch completed a yearlong appointment as the Executive in Residence for the Penn State York Graham Fellows Program for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Prior service includes Chairman of Junior Achievement South Central PA, Chairman of the York County Cultural Alliance, Chairman of the Tocqueville Society for York County United Way, and Honorary Chairman of the York Literacy Council Empowerment Campaign. Yanavitch’ s public service included assignments as the Vice Chairman of the York Township Zoning Hearing Board and Co-chair of the York County Human Services Commission from 2009 -2011.

In 2012, Yanavitch received the Community Builder award by the United Way of York County, an organization in which he served for many years. In 2016, the York SHRM Society recognized him with the Community HR Professional of the Year award for Human Resources Management. In May 2019, Yanavitch was honored to serve as commencement speaker for Penn State York. He is frequently invited to speak on human resources and leadership topics.
