York College of PA to host March 22 event to raise awareness of veterans suffering from PTSD
York College of Pennsylvania’s Military and Veterans Advocacy Committee will partner with Bartz Brigade and the York County Veterans Outreach to screen the film “Hell or High Seas” at 6 p.m., March 22, in Weinstock Lecture Hall, Willman Business Center. The event is open to the public free of charge; preregistration is required through EventBrite. As an introduction to resources, members from organizations in the community that work with veterans dealing with PTSD will be present.
"Hell or High Seas” is a true story about a former Navy Rescue Swimmer's journey to sail around Cape Horn in an effort to bring awareness to veterans suffering from PTSD. While education and awareness are extremely important when it comes to suicide, this movie also highlights adventure therapy as a strategy for overcoming PTSD.
