Spartan Design Competition & Giving Program

What is Rock the Socks? Our Rock the Socks program invites students and young alumni three years out to design their best YCP-themed socks! These socks are then voted on by their peers. The winning sock design is made into socks to be worn by our student and young alumni donors!

    Recent graduates from years 2021, 2022, and 2023 can make a gift of $25 to get a pair of this year's winning socks!

  • How to Submit Your Design

    How to Submit Your Design

    Attention: Sock designs and voting for 2023-2024 have now closed. If you are a current student or young alumni from 2021 - 2023, you can learn more about how to get a pair of this year’s winning socks by clicking here. 

    Sock designs can be submitted using any of the provided templates, or in any other digital format that works best for you. Whether you've created a design using professional software, a masterpiece on a napkin during your lunch break, or anything in between, all designs may be submitted. Participants are limited to three designs each.

    Sock Design Submissions: September 14, 2023 - October 13, 2023

    Sock Design Voting: October 18, 2023 - October 27, 2023

    Winner Announced: November 1, 2023

    Attention: Sock designs and voting for 2023-2024 have now closed. If you are a current student or young alumni from 2021 - 2023, you can learn more about how to get a pair of this year’s winning socks by clicking here. 

    While you are not required to use a template, you are more than welcome to. If you have any issues with the templates, please email Alyssa Placha, York College Fund Assistant Director, at aplacha@ycp.edu.

    Contest Rules

    Design

    • Students and alumni who graduated in 2021, 2022, and 2023 are eligible to participate
    • Up to three designs may be submitted by one person
    • Designs must represent the Spartan spirit and must include the College’s name and/or logo
    • Designs may be submitted in any form:
      • Digital drawing template
      • Drawing template
      • Other drawing that represents a sock

    Voting

    • Students and alumni who graduated in 2021, 2022, and 2023 are eligible to vote
    • Participants may vote only once
    • You do not have to have submitted a design to vote

    Other Rules

    • York College will give full credit to all designers but will retain rights to the winning
      submission
    • Designs may be altered after submission to meet York College branding guidelines
    • Designs may be altered after submission to meet print company guidelines
