5 Must-Have Apps for Every YCP Student

Transitioning to college can seem like a lot, but don’t worry, we have an app for that! Actually, we have a few apps for that – and we’re not talking about Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Head to the Google Play or Apple App Store and check out some of our favorite apps to make your college transition just a bit easier and help you keep up with everything happening at York College!

1. YCP App 

The YCP app (App Store / Google Play) is your one-stop shop for York College resources and events. Interested in attending the spring musical or an upcoming lacrosse game? The YCP app allows you to easily access the College’s full calendar of events to find CAB programs, athletic events, guest speakers, and so much more. You can also check out sales and new product arrivals at the Spartan Store, track Campus Shuttles, access your eBill for the semester, and take a look at the daily menus in our on-campus dining locations! On top of all of that, the YCP app links to Canvas to display your classes, assignment deadlines, and grades (This might be our favorite feature!). Keep on top of your classes while staying engaged on campus with this convenient resource center in the palm of your hand. 

2. LiveSafe 

Your safety is one of our top priorities at York College. The LiveSafe app (App Store / Google Play) provides students with quick, convenient, and discreet access to communication with our Campus Safety Department. Students can easily share information or report an incident using text, pictures, or video and stay up-to-date on important alerts and notifications. Additionally, the LiveSafe app allows you to share your location with safety officials, friends, or family to make sure you get to your destination safely.

3. YCP Rec 

At York College, we believe campus recreation is for “every body.” That’s why we offer 18 club sports, 20+  intramural sports, and countless fitness classes for our students to take advantage of. With so many opportunities in front of you, how can you possibly keep track of them all? This is where the YCP Rec app (App Store / Google Play) comes in handy! The YCP Rec app gives you access to game schedules, group fitness schedules, and allows you to register for and check into games or fitness classes. Check out individual and team leaderboards as well to see who’s vying for the coveted intramural championship t-shirts! Need more reasons to get involved in campus recreation? 4. TimelyCare

Available to all full-time undergraduate students, TimelyCare (App Store / Google Play) is a 24/7 virtual health and well-being service provider. TimelyCare services can be accessed 365 days a year, which means you can utilize the app during school breaks, after-hours, or any time you need support. Spoiler alert: Students don’t need insurance to utilize these services, either! Whether you’re in need of medical care, counseling or emotional support, or you’re just looking for some self-care content, the TimelyCare app has everything you need to stay mentally and physically healthy during your time at YCP! 

5. Boost: Campus Food Ordering

Between classes, clubs, athletics, and part-time jobs, our Spartans like to keep busy. That’s why Dining Services has partnered with Boost (App Store / Google Play) to offer mobile ordering options at two of our on-campus dining locations. Running late for your 8 a.m. class and don’t have time to make your morning coffee? Use Boost to pre-order your favorite beverage at Appell Cafe located in the Appell Life Sciences building on Main Campus! Boost allows you to pay using your meal plan or a debit/credit card. Students can also pre-order lunch between classes or dinner while running to and from club meetings at Sparts Den, located in the Iosue Student Union. We highly recommend their made-to-order pizzas and sandwiches! Bonus: Did you know we have our own on-campus Starbucks location? The Starbucks app earns an honorable mention as our sixth must-have app!
