International Students

York College welcomes all International Students interested in pursuing higher education. We appreciate the culture and perspective you bring to campus. We look forward to working with you.

International students are those who are not U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Residents who have or will apply for an F-1 student visa.

1. Application Deadlines:

  • May 1st for Fall (September) applicants (extended until June 1st)
  • September 1st for Spring (January) applicants 

2. Application Procedures:

To be considered for admission, international students must prove they are completing or have completed a full secondary school program which allows them to pursue university studies in their home country.

The following documentation must be submitted before an admission decision is made:

  • Online Application for admission
  • First time college student: Official Secondary (High) school transcript/report with English translation
  • Transfer student: Official Post-Secondary school transcript/report along with “course by course” evaluation from an approved credential evaluation agency. For a list of approved evaluating agencies,  click here.
  • SAT and/or ACT for native English speakers
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores for non-native English speakers

3. F-1 Student Visa Eligibility:

Students who have or will be applying for an F-1 student visa must submit the following documentation before York College can issue an I-20 document for the student visa application, change of immigration status, or SEVIS record transfer:


NOTE: U.S. colleges are required by law to obtain actual documentation that funds currently exist at least for the student’s first year of study and that, barring unforeseen circumstances, adequate funding will be available from the same or equally dependable sources for subsequent years of study in the U.S.

International students must be financially independent and capable of bearing all the costs associated with attending York College of Pennsylvania as the college does not have scholarships or financial aid available to assist foreign students.
