DelliCarpini
Community Art Scholar

Each year, one student who has participated as a finalist in the annual York Community Art Scholars Exhibition (YCASE) is selected to receive the DelliCarpini Community Art Scholarship. Established in 2016, the scholarship provides $20,000 ($5,000 per year) toward tuition for an incoming first-year student with plans to concentrate their studies in an arts-related discipline at York College of Pennsylvania.

  • Eligibility

    We invite you to apply for the scholarship if:

    1) You were selected for and participated in the YCASE Finalist Exhibition while in high school (either in the current year or a previous year);

    2) You have applied for admission to York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) and have been accepted;

    3) You will be enrolled at YCP as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours per semester) studying in an arts-related program.

  • Guidelines for Applying

    If your art was selected for the YCASE Finalist Exhibition at any time during your high school career, you are eligible to apply for the DelliCarpini Community Art Scholarship. Please note that the selection process, which takes place each spring, may include a telephone and/or in-person interview.

    The scholarship application for Fall 2024 entry will open on November 1, 2023, and close on March 15, 2024.

  • Program Expectations

    The goals of the DelliCarpini Community Art Scholarship are 1) to provide the Scholar with opportunities for experiential learning and leadership in the arts; and 2) to provide the Scholar with meaningful work within an arts venue and arts community.

    The Scholars are expected to spend a minimum of 30 hours per semester engaging in activities that assist in York College's efforts to make Marketview Arts—and the surrounding arts district—a success. This includes helping to plan and execute events, assisting with YCASE activities, participating in community art projects, and developing new art-related programming. Scholars are also expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress, act as an ambassador for Marketview Arts on the main campus, and, after their first year, to mentor new Scholars.
