Influencing a company’s financial future — accountants play a key role in the success of global enterprises.

Students who enjoy analyzing financial information and solving problems, are curious about what makes companies profitable, want to be key decision-makers, and have a strong commitment to organizational ethics would succeed in this in-demand major.

An accounting degree from York College prepares you for a world of opportunities. Accountants play a pivotal role, whether it’s planning a merger or acquisition, auditing a pension plan, or uncovering a fraudulent insurance scam. Our accounting majors take a full range of courses including taxation, ethics, auditing, law, and can select electives such as financial fraud, international accounting, government and not-for-profit accounting, and other special topics. At York College, students can personalize their studies by selecting complementary minors in finance, information systems, or other areas of specialization. Upon graduation, students are prepared to pursue CPA licensure and certifications in internal auditing, management accounting, and fraud examination.
