(York, PA) York College of Pennsylvania will host a Q&A with the artists from the Lancaster-area Barefoot Dance Company on Thursday, March 4, at 7 p.m. EST via Zoom. Sponsored by the Cultural Series and Theatre Program, this event supports the virtual concert, Dancing Words, which is available to watch on Youtube starting Monday, March 1.

Artistic Director Priscilla Kaufhold holds an MFA in Dance & Design from George Washington University and began dancing at the age of four. Her choreography has been commissioned by dance companies, colleges, theatres, and individual artists. For over 35 years, Kaufhold’s innovative work has entertained and enlightened audiences by approaching topics such as aging, recycling, and nature in fun and engaging ways. Currently, she teaches a Modern Dance course at York College.

Barefoot Dance Company was founded in 2013 by a company of dancers working collaboratively with other artists. They strive to create innovative works that are accessible to all audiences. The Dancing Words Concert will include older pieces that were originally performed in front of live audiences alongside new pieces that were filmed during the coronavirus shutdown. The entire concert lasts about 45 minutes and can be watched at York College’s Theatre Program’s Youtube channel from Monday, March 1 through Thursday, March 4.  The talk-back and Q&A will not only feature Ms. Kaufhold but also dancers: Jennifer Berlet, Jessica Hillier, Amy Humphrey, Akosua Kankam, Rachel Mahaffey and Sarah Myers, and it will be moderated by Theatre major and dance student, Acell Spencer ’24.
