Cooperative Overview of Schedules and Work Assignments
All York College engineering students follow a co-op schedule consisting of two co-op semesters beginning with the summer between the 2nd and 3rd year of study.
This schedule provides the employer with:
- The ability to budget for a single co-op position to be filled throughout a given calendar year by potentially two different students.
- A degree of "overlap" for the entering and exiting co-op students to interact with each other. This helps provide for continuity during transition. For example, a junior-level student on spring co-op could potentially train an incoming summer co-op student. (See table below outlining the student schedule.)
Year | Fall | Spring | Summer |
---|---|---|---|
