York College names two interim deans for School of Nursing and Health Professions, Graham School of Business

York College has named Interim Deans for the 2019-2020 academic year in the School of Nursing and Health Professions and the Graham School of Business. Both are currently serving in these roles.

Janet Powell, Ed.D., has been named the Interim Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Professions. She most recently served as Dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Services at California State University San Marcos, where she was responsible for supervising approximately 2,000 students, 224 faculty members and 14 staff members. In this role, she oversaw the Nursing programs at San Marcos. 

Prior to this position, she served as Associate Vice President for Faculty at California State University San Marcos from 2009-2012. In this role, Powell was in charge of faculty grievances, contracts and hiring. As a faculty member, she was Assistant and Associate Professor of Literacy Education in the College of Education, also at San Marcos.

Powell earned three degrees from Indiana University: a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education; a master's degree in Language Education and a doctorate in Language Education. She has also published extensively in the area of literacy education. 

Nick Delener, Ph.D., will serve as the Interim Dean of the Graham School of Business for 2019-2020. He most recently served as Interim Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Indiana University East in Richmond, Ind. Prior to this position, Delener served as Dean of the School of Global Business at Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa. Before Arcadia, he served as Dean of the School of Business at the State University of New York (SUNY) Old Westbury. 

As a faculty member, Delener was a tenured Full Professor in the Tobin College of Business at
St. John’s University in New York City. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Uludag University in Turkey, an MBA in Marketing and Finance from New York University, and a doctorate in Marketing and International Business from the Graduate Center, The City University of New York (CUNY).
