Garabo Named the IWLCA Goalie of the Year

York College senior goalie Bella Garabo has been named the IWLCA Division III Goalie of the Year as announced by the organization on Wednesday.

Garabo, earned first-team IWLCA All-American honors last week, is the third Spartan women's lacrosse player to earn a positional player of the year award from the organization. She joins current assistant coach Nicole Clauter (2019 Defender of the Year) and Karlie Dougherty (2015 Defender of the Year) as a national honoree. Garabo was the sixth Spartan player to earn first-team All-American honors as those squads for announced last week.

Garabo is a two-time IWLCA All-Metro selection. The senior had a fantastic season as she went 17-4 for the season with a 7.18 goals against average and a .528 save percentage. She had double digit saves in four games including three straight games from April 1 through April 8. She also shined in the MAC Commonwealth Championship game with 12 saves as she earned the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

Garabo was the MAC Commonwealth Goalie of the Year and earned the Commonwealth Defender of the Week award in six straight weeks. Her conference numbers were impressive as she went 8-0 with a 3.03 goals against average and a .651 save percentage.

She ranked first in the Commonwealth in save percentage and was second in goals against average. Garabo is 11th in NCAA Division III in goals against average and 15th in save percentage.

For her career, Garabo owns a record of 28-8 with a 7.01 goals against average and a .537 save percentage. She has played in 2131:17 minutes over the course of 52 games as a Spartan. She is second in career goals against average and save percentage while she ranks third in saves and fourth in career victories.
