Dr. Kim Fenstermacher was recently selected as a Nightingale Finalist in the Nursing Research category
As Director of Graduate Programs and the DNP Program, Kim has been an active nurse researcher. While she publishes her own work, she also positively influences our students' understanding of nursing research and evidence based practice as she teaches graduate research. For the past several years, Kim accompanied doctoral students to the Eastern Nursing Research Symposia (ENRS).
At the prestigious ENRS events, our York College DNP students compete against students from nationally-recognized nursing powerhouse schools (Penn, Pitt, Penn State, Hopkins, Columbia University, and many others). This year alone, one York College student project earned second place---to a team of 5 students from Columbia University. Another student earned second place in her category as well.
Dr. Fenstermacher fosters the importance of a high degree of professionalism among our students, and her efforts have paid off. YCP students have consistently performed very well at the event and have earned respect for doctoral nursing at York College.
The winners will be announced at an Awards Gala in November.
