March 25, 2019
 Jessica Abel, writer-in-residence

Cartoonist, author and educator Jessica Abel, who is serving as York College's writer-in-residence, will present "Telling Tales" at 7 p.m., April 4, in DeMeester Recital Hall, Wolf Hall. The event will be followed by a question-and-answer session and is open to the public free of charge.

Abel is the author of "Growing Gills: How to Find Creative Focus When You’re Drowning in Your Daily Life"; the graphic novel "La Perdida," winner of the 2002 “Best New Series” Harvey Award; "Trish Trash: Rollergirl of Mars"; and two collections of stories from her omnibus comic book "Artbabe." She chairs the illustration program at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA). Both within and without PAFA, Abel helps creative people with big ideas to get past procrastination and anxiety and make their potentially transcendent, game-changing creative work real in the world.
