York College’s World Languages Media Center will show three international movies during March in Room 218 of the Humanities Center. Films will be shown beginning at 7 p.m. in their original language with subtitles. The screenings are open to the public free of charge.

March 5

“Vivir es facil” (“Living Is Easy with Eyes Closed,” Spanish)

A high-school English/Latin teacher, Antonio, drives to Almeria, Spain, in hopes of meeting his hero, John Lennon. Along the way, Antonio picks up two runaways.

March 12

“Réparer les Vivants” (“Heal the Living,” French)

A single devastating event intertwines inextricably the lives of an unfortunate teenager, a weary woman with a critical degenerative heart condition and a team of compassionate doctors; all perfect strangers, perfectly interconnected.

March 26

“Zwei Leben” (“Two Lives,” German)

As the Berlin Wall crumbles, Katrine, the daughter of a Norwegian woman and a German occupation soldier, finds her idyllic life disrupted as she refuses to testify a trial against the Norwegian state on behalf of her fellow “war children.”
