York College has purchased the Colonial Shopping Center property on South George Street. The College was also gifted the adjacent parcel, which was formerly the site of a Tom’s Convenience Store.

“The acquisition of these properties reflects careful planning for the long-term viability of the College and ensures our ability to address future needs of the campus, programs and students,” said President Pamela Gunter-Smith.

The College has no immediate plans for the properties and will continue to explore potential opportunities they present for the future.

York College is committed to the York community, and deeply values the many partnerships that have developed over the years, according to Gunter-Smith. “The Center for Community Engagement and Marketview Arts are both examples of significant investments made by the College that help broaden and deepen our community collaboration. As President, I am committed to ensuring that York College remains a strong community partner,” she said.
