- You are listening to 88.1 WVYC: the Voice of York College. - Well, WVYC gives the students a voice. - [Jeffrey] When they come into the studios, studios look like a regular radio station. They're going to use equipment that they're going to see at the next level. - I am the music director here at WVYC. I think the best part about being music director is just getting the chance to talk to all these different companies with new music, and get to talk to new bands. So that's, that's pretty cool. My name is Rebecca Tarlo. This is my show, Alternative Takeover. When I first started my radio show, I remember I was, like, super over-prepared for everything. I scripted out my entire show. I don't do that now. It was a lot of fun. And ever since then I've just loved it. Here is Jiminy, right here on WVYC. - This is alumni weekend. - [Jeffrey] We had about 70 alumni from the radio station here this past weekend, and to them this is family. And they've got a real kinship with the current students. - Good morning everybody, and welcome to the Untitled Sports Project. The name of my show is the Untitled Sports Project and what we do is we just talk sports and we can take call-ins. We most recently had a guy from SP Nation call in to talk some post-season baseball. We just kind of dissect everything. We analyze everything. And we just have a fun time doing it. And now they've beaten Ohio State. So the wins just keep getting better and better as they're go on. - Welcome to YCParanormal Radio. This is Dr. Spooky Jim, your host. YCParanormal is a radio show that started three years ago, that covers all aspects of the paranormal from Bigfoot, UFO's, ghosts, you can talk about things that are beside the normal. We have Rick Hayes. Welcome to the show, Rick. We have had about 83 guests in three years. We have people from the televisions shows like Ghosthunters, Ghost Adventures, that have been on our show. - I am here in Pennsylvania. - YCParanormal has allowed me to discover talents I didn't even know I had. I was shy before I started the radio show. I didn't think I was going to be good on the radio. But when I get on air it's just like something changes and on air I'm fine. - [Jim] I'm a music professor. I'm a composer and conductor. And decided at one point I wanted to try radio to see if we could host a show. And happened to meet Channing, and we said: "Let's do it." Anything paranormal happen this week? - The haunted mill at Kim's Krypt is haunted. We do have a lot of listeners. Most of them, they listen online and they come from literally all over the world. We've got messages from someone in Spain once. It's just been a blast and I love it. - I'm just passionate about radio. I love radio. And I've always loved radio since I was a young kid. And I worked in commercial broadcasting for 34 years before I got here, so I feel like I'm training the next generation of broadcasters. - I want to be a sportscaster. That's my ultimate goal. And I think getting experience with my own sports talk show, it's really built my passion. Because I was able to do it fall semester in my freshman year, which I didn't think would ever happen. We'll be right back. We're going to get right into college football.
