- Five, four, three, two. Working at a TV station is actually a lot of fun. - The NFL Player's Association announced it and... - Here at Fox 43 in York, I am on studio crew. One of my jobs on the days that I floor direct, I need to make sure that all of the microphones are working properly and that they're all fully charged. Mic three, one, two, three, four, five. So, as a floor director, I'm responsible for making sure all the cameras are working properly. I give the news anchor cues when and where to look at the camera. Evan will be in camera two. Amy can you slide out? - State Police has also announced today that... - While at York, I was a communications major, so with some of my communications classes we did video production and I did the teleprompter, I wrote scripts, I wrote rundowns. I was responsible for gathering news. I floor directed. Like everything I did in class is what I'm doing here, so it was very hands on. What I like most about it is it's a lot of room to grow here. On Fridays I've recently been going out and shooting sports and ultimately I wanna be a photo journalist for Time Magazine or any major news network, and it's giving me that experience of knowing what information to gather. What to shoot, what angles to shoot from so that the viewer has a clear understanding of what's going on. Transition to three is next. Like, oh I learned this in class. Let me apply this right now. At York I learned a lot about networking and establishing great relationships with professionals and learning how to use that when you go out into the field, which helped me with this job. Everyone should come to York College. Like, I'm not just saying that because I'm being biased, because I graduated. It's a great place and if you're looking for a place that you won't feel too overwhelmed, but still very engaged, I would definitely say to come to York.
