Group Exercise

Fitness is easier when you've got support all around you

If you need group motivation and a change of pace, group exercise is perfect. We offer both student and employee-focused classes that address your physical and mental wellness.

We suggest trying out the high-intensity, calorie-burning, ever-popular H.I.I.T and Zumba classes if you want a heavy but fun workout, or a yoga class for a calming focus. Classes are open to all fitness levels and, as always, are free to anyone with Grumbacher access. Classes are first come, first serve; you can sign up starting 30 minutes before the class at the welcome desk. We now have Rec*It FITNESS app to put our Group Exercise schedule at your fingertips, too! Just visit the IM Leagues page and enter your mobile number in the Rec*It box.

  • Class Descriptions

    Butts & Guts  is a short, high-intensity class that focuses mainly on the core and legs. Class structure is highly variable and options for all fitness levels are provided. Tuesday & Thursdays: 3-3:30 (GC 263)

    Faculty & Staff Yoga: York College offers a yoga program for all employees in order to  enhance their well-being. The class is structured to be open to all regardless of current yoga experience or fitness level. Monday & Wednesdays: 1-2pm (GC 261)

    High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a combination of plyometrics, kickboxing, navy seal moves, push-ups, burpees and aerobic dance along with various ab core strengthening moves. As it says in the title, this is a High-Intensity class. Tuesday & Thursdays: 6:30-7:30pm (GC 263)

    Zumba In The Circuit: The High-Octane, Latin-Inspired dance rhythms of Zumba® combine with the benefits of metabolism-boosting strength training for one complete workout. CANCELLED due to lack of attendance.

    Zumba® Fitness It’s a Party!!  We take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check. Wednesdays: 5:30-6:30pm (GC 261)

    Yoga is a group exercise class open for all regardless of yoga experience and current fitness level. Modifications and variations of classical asanas (poses) are taught so that all may participate. Tuesdays & Thursdays: 4:30-5:30pm (GC 261)

    1-2pm: Employee Yoga

    3-3:30pm: Butts & Guts
    3:30-4:30pm: Yoga
    6:30-7:30pm: H.I.I.T

    5:30-6:30pm: Zumba

    3:30-4:30pm: Yoga

    4-5pm: Zumba
