The Education Technology Internship

The Education Technology Internship is the capstone experience for York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) graduate candidates pursuing the M.Ed. in Educational Technology and/or the Instructional Technology Specialist Certification (ITS). The purpose of the Education Technology Internship is to provide practical experiences designed to prepare candidates to become effective education technology leaders and practitioners. This internship affords candidates opportunities to integrate technology in authentic education contexts while under the direction of a college-appointed Internship Supervisor. Candidates who complete this internship, pending their completion of all course requirements prescribed for their elected track, are eligible to be awarded either the M.Ed. in Educational Technology with the ITS certification, or stand-alone ITS certification.

Applying for Your Technology Internship

Download the appropriate proposal materials and your MOU form from the links below. When all application materials (and your proposal paper) are complete, use the button below to submit your items to the Master of Education Program office. Approval to enroll in the Education Technology Internship is granted by the Education Technology Coordinator. Please consult the Education Technology Internship Handbook for details about the Education Technology Internship experience.

For Technology Internship Supervisors

Internship Supervisors schedule and lead six meetings with the candidate to assess the candidate's progress during the internship. Four of these visits, as well as the candidate's blog posts, are formally evaluated using the Education Technology Internship Evaluation Form. The mid- and final-evaluations are conducted in the candidate's school or local education association. Please download and save one Education Technology Internship Evaluation Form (link below) for each candidate at the beginning of his/her internship. Include the candidate's last name and internship semester in the name of the form when you save it (example: Miller_Fall18). The form will automatically tabulate scores during each evaluation. Please remember to re-save the form each time you open it and enter scores. Be sure to upload the completed Evaluation Form at the conclusion of the internship (see next section).

Supervisor Submissions at Internship Conclusion

Please use the Submission button below to submit the Education Technology Internship Evaluation Form and your Travel & Expense Form to the YCP M.Ed. Office at least one week before the end of the internship experience. (For security purposes, completed W-9 Forms should be mailed to the YCP Master of Education office, dropped off in person, or uploaded via secure survey at www.tinyurl.com/IRSw9YCP.) Final Internship course grades, entered by the Education Technology Coordinator, will be informed by Education Technology Internship Evaluation Form.
