Students working on a component of a Formula One racecar for the York College engineering program

Mechanical Engineering

From day one, you'll be doing hands-on projects. Seeing your ideas come to life is just part of the program.

We don’t waste time getting you involved in doing projects. There’s so much to learn about being a mechanical engineer, and you’ll find at York College, you learn by doing. We require students to do a three-semester co-op where you’ll work full time — fantastic real world experience plus income to boot.

Students love our large-scale capstone design projects too. Recent projects have included an automated greenhouse, formula-style and off-road race cars, automated bike rental station and drones to help farmers monitor their land.
