Spring on the York College campus

Global Scholars and Research

Our office is proud to support our students as Global Scholars who not only take their education abroad but also participate in research and academic reflection. The Study Abroad Center works with departments and offices across campus to support the proposals by and nominations of our Spartans to present their work and experiences at scholarly conferences and events.

Scholarly Opportunities

For Spartans looking to take their education abroad further, there are many opportunities to present their experiences and work or to work on potential publications. One of our students recently published a book chapter entitled "Designing Study Abroad With Empathy and Engagement: A Case Study for Project-Based Global Learning Experiences" and extension of the presentation at the 2019 AFS Global Conference in Montreal, Canada. As well, there have been other scholarly presentations such as at the 2019 Somewhere Over the Rainbow Conference in College Park, Maryland. And our annual attendance to the UN Climate Change conference. Contact the Study Abroad Center to ask about how you might be a part of future research, presentations, or publications. Below are links to scholarly works and other opportunities to consider.
