The SAS CONNECTIONS Program
The SAS CONNECTIONS Program is a student-centered program designed to provide support and education for our neurodiverse students in the areas of social competencies, community, wellness, academics, professional growth and culture.
The SAS CONNECTIONS Program strives to empower students, while providing a supportive college experience, that cultivates growth in many diverse areas. The SAS Connections program is both academically and socially based, with goals to foster student growth, promote independence, build confidence, self-advocacy skills, academic skills, and improve connection within the campus community.
The SAS CONNECTIONS Program will provide both individual and group activities on campus and in the community each semester.
Each Connection will encompass some of the following:
Academics: Academic Coaching, tutoring, writing center
Social Competencies: communication skills, increase in student engagement, positive social support network.
Community: campus connection & engagement, workshops, social activities
Culture: self-advocacy, authenticity, inclusion
Wellness: recreation, student activities, health & safety
Professional Growth: career services, career readiness skills
