All about ExCEL

  • Who should attend?

The ExCEL Series provides programs and presentations tailored to the Essentials of Leadership for student organization/club leaders and students looking to enhance their leadership development. All programs are free and open to all YCP students, as these leadership skills are transferable to all aspects of the College experience and will serve students in a wide range of opportunities.

  • What is the student organization ExCEL requirement?

York College is home to 100+ vibrant student clubs and organizations. These organizations hold a vital role in developing leaders and well-rounded students. As such, each organization is required to attend a select number of ExCEL Series events in order to ensure that their members are well informed and successful in their roles.

The following outlines the requirements of each Student Senate* recognized organization:

    • Two members of each YCP recognized organization/club are required to attend one ExCEL Series program each semester.
    • You are not all required to attend the same session
    • Make sure you sign-in at the event to receive credit for your attendance

*Student Senate requirements are subject to change. Please contact Student Senate for the most up to date recognized student organization/club policies. >

  • Looking to present?

Interested in presenting or have someone in mind you would like to nominate? ExCEL is always looking to increase the diversity of its programs and presenters! Contact the adviser to learn more on how to present.

  • What is the “Strengths for Students” program?

Have you ever wondered what your top talents are? Do you want to stand out in an interview? Discover what makes you unique by signing up for this CliftonStrengths® powered program! CliftonStrengths for Students is a revolutionary personal assessment that helps participants focus on developing your strengths rather than fixing weaknesses.
