Spring on the York College campus

Undergraduate Research

Through research and creative opportunities, York College undergraduate researchers learn to problem-solve using a variety of methods to find answers. They hone their ability to communicate, organize, investigate, ask questions. Research provides an opportunity for a mentor-mentee relationship different from a teacher-student relationship.

Undergraduate researchers often have a broader perspective, enthusiasm, and energy that are ripe for explorations and learning. One of the most rewarding processes for faculty mentors is witnessing the evolution of student learning when involved in research or the creative experience. For our faculty, mentoring student explorations is an investment in tomorrow's scholars.

York College of Pennsylvania provides support and resources to both our students and faculty who engage in research.  Look for workshops, grants, and support for faculty mentors offered throughout the year. We showcase our best undergraduate research projects at our annual Undergraduate Research Showcase.

Undergraduate Research Showcase

The Office of the Provost sponsors an annual gathering of exemplary student scholars from across the disciplines to celebrate and showcase their research achievements. The York College of Pennsylvania Undergraduate Showcase is held each spring during “Undergraduate Research Week” as declared by the U.S. House of Representatives.
