The LTS Help Desk is here for you.

The mission of the LTS Help Desk is to provide quality service to the YCP community in addressing all technology-related needs. Located in Schmidt Library, the LTS Help Desk is a friendly place to discuss technical concerns.  Students, faculty and staff receive assistance with general computing issues including hardware, campus-supported software, network connectivity and user accounts.  We provide problem resolution and personal assistance to help you make the most of YCP and personal technology resources such as handheld devices and game consoles.

LTS Help uses the Footprints customer support service to provide a single system for tracking customer requests, issues, and knowledge base information.  The Footprints service catalog can be used to submit requests or issues to the LTS Department.

We offer the following services

  • YCP Network Account: All students, faculty, and staff receive a YCP network account. This account is required to connect to online campus resources such as MyYCP and campus computers.
  • MyYCPMyYCP is the York College campus portal. It provides links to multiple campus resources including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google  Docs, Moodle, and YCPweb by logging in with your network account.
  • Moodle: Moodle is the Learning Management System (LMS) we use to manage academic courses. Moodle allows students to access materials, complete assignments, view grades in their courses.
  • Flex Card: Put money on your York College ID card! You can use your ID to pay for laundry, printing, cafes on campus, and retail locations off campus!
  • Collaboration and File Storage: All students, faculty, and staff have personal storage space for document and file storage on Google's network. Use Google Drive for collaboration and file storage which then remains intact following your graduation and account transition.
    The York College network H: drive is also available for personal file storage until graduation.
  • BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): The LTS Help Desk provides support to connect personally-owned laptops and devices to YCP’s wireless and wired network. Registering your device to our Clearpass system provides a secure connection while you explore your academic pursuits. The LTS Help Desk also assists with troubleshooting software issues, including scanning of malware and spyware. 
  • Guest Network:  Campus visitors may connect to YCP’s guest network to access the Internet while on campus.
  • YCP Open Access Computers:  Computers are located in the Schmidt Library, 24x7 labs, and gathering areas across campus.
  • Printing:  Networked printers are located in computer labs and in open areas across campus.  Mobile management of print jobs is available so that students can print documents at convenient locations. Please visit My Print Center for details.
  • Xfinity On Campus: Stream your favorite shows on campus! YCP offers a variety of channels for your viewing pleasure. Connect your television through coaxial cable or stream from your personal device.
  • YCP Web For Parents: Students can set up a "Parent Proxy" allowing parents access to selected academic information.
