Applications for the Senior Class of 2019 Executive Board are now available. Please see below for a list of open positions and corresponding responsibilities for each position. The online application for President and Vice President is due by Monday, March 26 and the application for all other executive board positions is due by Monday, April 2.

    Executive Board Responsibilities

    As a member of the Senior Class of 2019 Executive Board, you will lead your graduating class through a year full of exciting events, participate in senior class traditions like the 100 Days to Graduation Toast, and educate your peers on the importance of philanthropy and staying engaged after leaving your mark at YCP. Throughout the year, all members of the Class of 2019 Executive Board will be expected to attend weekly executive board meetings, attend senior class events and programs, and encourage involvement from your peers in the Senior Class Gift campaign.

    Senior Class President

    • Official spokesperson for the Senior Class of 2019
    • Presents student address at Spring Commencement
    • Leads weekly meetings with the Senior Class Executive Board
    • Provides direction and leadership for the Senior Class Gift Campaign and writes acknowledgment letters for Senior Class Gift donors
    • Meets weekly or bi-weekly with Senior Class advisors
    • Assists in choosing the student speaker for Winter Commencement
    • Serves as liaison to the York College Young Alumni Council

    Vice President

    • Manages the annual budget for the Senior Class
    • Assumes all responsibilities in the absence of the Senior Class President
    • Assists in providing direction and leadership for the Senior Class Gift Campaign


    • Maintains and coordinates the communication of important documents including meeting minutes, budget documents, and event/meeting reminders
    • Creates and writes content for a monthly Senior Class of 2019 newsletter
    • Writes portal announcements and emails to promote Senior Class events and programs
    • Coordinates event and room reservations for Senior Class events

    Social Media Chair

    • Manages the Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts for the Senior Class of 2019
    • Creates and maintains a social media/email calendar at the beginning of each month in conjunction with the Secretary and Events Chair
    • Designs event invitations, flyers, and graphics for Senior Class communications
    • Designs and/or assists in designing the Senior Class of 2019 logo used on all event promotion and senior class communications

    Events Chair

    • Plans and executes, in conjunction with the Senior Class of 2019 Executive Board, a Senior Week and a December Graduation Toast in the Fall 2018 semester and all traditional and count down events in the Spring 2019 semester including 100 Days to Graduation Toast
    • Coordinates event logistics including catering orders, rentals, and volunteer recruitment

    More Information About Applying for the Senior Class of 2019 Executive Board

    President and Vice President Application/Election Process

    Applications for President and Vice President are due Monday, March 26, 2018 by 5 p.m. Upon submission of your online application, you will be sent an email to set up your interview and provide details about your petition for candidacy. For the petition, each candidate must collect 30 signatures from your classmates, which must be submitted at the time of your interview.

    Interviews for President and Vice President will occur Monday, April 2 through Wednesday, April 4, 2018.

    Note: The interview process for President and Vice President are simply to screen candidates to ensure they meet the requirements of these positions. If each candidate meets the requirements, they will be informed of their eligibility to run in the election after their interview.

    If you meet the requirements to run for President and Vice President, you will be informed that you may begin campaigning.

    Elections for President and Vice President will be Monday, April 9 through Wednesday, April 11, 2018. The link to the poll will be emailed to the entire Class of 2019 and will be provided to all candidates to distribute.

    All other Executive Board Positions

    Applications will be due by Monday, April 2, 2018 by 5 p.m. Upon submission of your online application, you will be sent an email to set up your interview.

    Interviews will take place Monday, April 16 through Friday, April 20, 2018. Your interview will be with the newly elected Senior Class President and Vice President and the two Senior Class advisors. After the interview process is complete, you will receive an email informing you of the decision.
