I'm fine. Exhibit
Marketview Arts, Brick Room
Organized by Creative York in collaboration with Maureen Joyce and Carrie Breschi.
Our world is facing a mental health crisis. As artists, we believe in the power of art to ignite change and to create new perspectives. We also believe in you, the community, as agents of change. It all starts with a conversation.
The I’m fine. project is dedicated to artist Maureen Joyce’s son, Patrick, who completed his life in 2018 after struggling with mental illness. Creative York is collaborating with Maureen Joyce and Carrie Breschi to bring the I’m fine. project to York and our arts community. This exhibit features masks created by local community members.
Maureen Joyce is a ceramic artist, native to Pittsburgh, who now resides in Carlisle, PA. She rekindled her love for clay and alternative firing processes while living in Asheville, NC. Maureen is developing work that speaks to social issues. She directs a creative program for Survivors of Suicide Loss and along with Carrie Breschi launched I’m fine., a community engagement project dedicated to sculpting mental health awareness and support.
