The Creative Group
My name is Sophie Barnes '22 and I am a sophomore English major with minors in French and Marketing. This is my first year on the SpartaNation YCP Road Crew and it has already been one of the best experiences of my time at York College. This week in Philadelphia, we had the opportunity to visit Rachel Lawler '16 at The Creative Group. They are a division of Robert Half that is responsible for recruiting and finding candidates for employers. They are like the matchmakers of the working world!
But why are they called “The Creative Group”? They deal with finding candidates in primarily creative fields like marketing or web design. Finding these candidates can be through platforms such as LinkedIn or even through mutual connections, but the excitement in the job for Rachel is in the search. Rachel graduated from YCP in 2016 with a degree in public relations and now works as the Senior Creative Recruiter at The Creative Group.
Rachel credited her involvement during her time at YCP as a huge stepping stone to building her career. For example, she was involved in CAB, Phi Mu Sorority, and PRSSA, just to name a few. Visiting The Creative Group was an excellent experience! The idea of recruiting to an undergrad student can be daunting and somewhat foreign, but the group at Robert Half showed that it can be an exciting and personal job. Connecting ambitious individuals with positions in which they feel they can thrive is the main goal of The Creative Group.
