Dominic DelliCarpini, Ph.D.
Dean, Center for Community Engagement
Naylor Endowed Professor of Writing Studies
Dr. Dominic DelliCarpini holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University, where he was the Edwin Earle Sparks Fellow. Currently, he is the Dean for York College’s Center for Community Engagement, the Naylor Endowed Professor of Writing Studies, and President of the National Council of Writing Program Administrators. Before taking on his current role, he served York College for 5 years as Dean of Academic Affairs (Chief Academic Officer), 13 years as Writing Program Director, and 10 years as a secondary school teacher in Philadelphia. He has taught courses in technical writing, business writing, first-year and advanced composition, and rhetoric.
His numerous articles and presentations examine the role of writing as a tool for civic engagement, writing program administration, undergraduate research, and faculty development. He has also authored/edited 4 textbooks for first-year composition, and has served as a consultant for writing programs around the U.S. He has received the York College Professional Service Award, the York County Economic Alliance’s Spirit of York County Award for Community Engagement, and the 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania Award for his work within the community of York. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the York County Community Foundation, the Cultural Alliance of York County, and the York Bar Foundation, and was recently appointed by Governor Tom Wolf to his commission on public service, PennSERVE.
Dr. Nezam Al-Nsair, Ph.D., RN
Dean and Professor, School of Nursing and Health Professions
Dr. Nezam Al-Nsair is the current Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Professions at York College of Pennsylvania. He is a professor of nursing, he earned his Ph.D. degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, OH, his MSN degree is from Villanova University, PA, and his BSN degree is from Jordan University of Science & Technology, Jordan.
Dr. Al-Nsair has vast leadership, academic, and clinical experiences. He served at several institutions of higher education and was instrumental in the development and accreditation of several traditional undergraduate, completion, accelerated, and graduate and online programs. Among his scholastic achievements are numerous grants submissions, publications, and national and international presentations. In addition, Dr. Al-Nsair served for several years as a staff nurse in acute care settings.
