- Spent over 30 years working for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare
- Greatest achievement was providing financial and medical services to 25,000 residents of York County through the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare
- As a student at YJC, was a member of the concert choir, played baseball, and served as an Annual Fund Class Agent
- Retired in 1995 as Executive Director of the York County Assistance Office
- Member of YCP Small Legacy Society with his wife, Arlene
- Received a Bachelor of Arts from Elizabethtown College and Master of Social Work from West Virginia University
- Served on the Elizabethtown College Board of Trustees from 1983 to 1990
- Served on the Boards of Bethany Theological Seminary, Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center, and served as a Director for the Brethren Home Foundation
- Served as President of the Windy Hill Senior Center and Vice President of Children’s Aid Society
