Molecular Biology LaboratoryLocated within the biology area of the Life-Science Building, the molecular biology lab is used for upper level courses in biochemistry, genetics, immunology and cell/molecular biology. The bright spacious design enables teams of two or four students to conduct a wide range of experiments in these disciplines. The handicap accessible lab has up-to-date equipment for DNA sequencing , protein purification and characterization of polyclonal antibodies. Students will use a wide variety of techniques during their four years at YCP.

GREENHOUSE
Life Sciences

GreenhouseThe York College greenhouse is located on the second floor of the Life Sciences Building. Here, one can find a diverse and interesting collection of plants from many ecosystems throughout the world. Primitive mosses and ferns, carnivorous sundews and flytraps, and a growing collection of orchids are just some of the species on display. The greenhouse also contains a fully functional pond ecosystem, which is used by Biology classes to investigate how freshwater flora and fauna respond to changing environmental conditions. The greenhouse is also the site of the annual Biology Department "exotic plants" sale, which takes place every spring.
