If you are sent something from a company that you did not order and you need to return it to the company, you must contact the company and request a Call Tag. A Call Tag is a form that tells the shipper that York College is not paying to return the item. You must hold on to the package. When the Call Tag comes in, Mail Services will notify you to bring the package down to ship it out. DO NOT BRING THE PACKAGE TO MAIL SERVICES TO HOLD UNTIL THE CALL TAG ARRIVES.
MAIL SERVICES JOB POLICY
Mail Services handles a large amount of mailings each year, and by following these few simple procedures, we will be able to better serve the York College community.
- All mailing jobs must be given to Mail Services two weeks prior to the mailing date. This allows Mail Services to complete the tasks needed to get the mailing out (i.e. direct imprinting, labeling, tabbing).
- Any mailing jobs failing to meet the requirement of two weeks prior to the mailing will have one of the following choices:
- Move mailing date to allow two weeks to process, or
- Have the mailing sent to a local mailing house to prepare the mailing and the department will pay for all costs involved (excluding postage).
- After the mailing address database is cleaned up, Mail Services can print the address information directly on the mail piece, providing you a better looking mail piece.
- When planning a mailing, as soon as the basic information is determined, call Mail Services Manager to obtain accurate mailing dates.
- If your department is planning on handling the Third Class mailing themselves, please follow the instructions in the Standard A section of this book. By following these directions, it will not cause any delays.
- Contact the Mail Services Coordinator with any questions at Ext. 1476.
