Leah Barteld Clague '07 used her leadership skills to become an associate attorney at McLaughlin Law Group.
While at York College, Leah was president of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), known now as Enactus, and found the ability to interact with business and community leaders has helped her communicate effectively with clients.
And with her business administration background, she has a unique perspective on law.
“I am able to provide my clients with more than just simple legal advice, but legal advice with a business strategy context,” said Leah.
Leah offers her legal advice in a very nontraditional way – from her home. McLaughlin Law Group is a virtual law firm with conference room space around Maryland, but the attorneys primarily work from their homes and meet clients at their businesses or homes. While this setting may be hard for some to stay on task, Leah is used to prioritizing and juggling multiple priorities from her time at York.
“I graduated in three years, while still leading SIFE and completing four internships,” she said. “York College taught me the value of hard work, and I am grateful for that.”
