    Steering Committee

    The Steering Committee consists of the Council Chair, Vice Chair, and Physical Sciences Department Chair, the Chemistry Program Coordinator, CIAC Liaison, Director of Corporate Relations, and other company member representatives. The Steering Committee will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and auditing the Council charter, membership, subcommittees, dues structure, and initiatives.

    Officers

    The Council Chair and Vice Chair will be nominated and elected by the Steering Committee. The duration of their service will generally be for 2 years with the option for term extension as deemed appropriate by the Steering Committee.

    Subcommittees

    As needs become evident, the Steering Committee may charter various subcommittees with examples and their scopes of responsibility as follows:

    • Administrative Subcommittee: Member company recruitment, dues collection, website, newsletter, calendar of events, etc.
    • Intern Subcommittee: Coordinate logistics including resume directory, intern opportunity identification, process development & administration, etc.
    • Programs Subcommittee: Planning & execution including scheduling, agendas, venues, speakers, invitations, logistics, etc.
    • Seminar Subcommittee: Identify topics, recruit speakers, assemble & communicate schedule, logistics coordination, etc.  

    Members

    The President of York College, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of College Advancement, Physical Sciences Department Chair, Director of Corporate Relations, and Chemistry Program Coordinator shall all be ex-officio members.  All other members shall be representatives of corporate Council sponsors, a status open to any firm with an interest in supporting chemistry education at York College and willing to pay annual Council Sponsor dues, as determined by the Steering Committee and made as contributions to York College of Pennsylvania.
