Fall Fest and Family Weekend

Fall Fest is held the first weekend of October to welcome parents, families, friends and alumni to campus for a celebration of the new year.

Each Fall Fest incudes a variety of activities including (but not limited to) home athletic events, alumni reunions, the festival of student organizations and evening family-friendly entertainment!

Whether you are the class of 2018 or 1968,
we hope to see you here for the event of the semester!

5K and Fun Run

Registraton Time: 7am – 8:15am

8:30am Grumbacher Track/Rail Trail

Join our 3rd Annual 5K and Fun Run as alumni, employees,

students, and community members gather for this day of fun!

Entry fees

• $25 - YCP alumni, faculty/staff, Spartan family members, and community members

• $30 - Day of registration

• $10 - YCP students

• FREE - SpartaKids Fun Run(12 and under)

President’s Reception

10am – 11am Johnson Dining Hall

Welcome to Fall Fest! All student, friends, family, and alumni of the College are invited to join together for light refreshments and conversation. Dr. Gunter-Smith will host this reception in the beautiful, newly-renovated, Johnson Dining Hall. Please join us for the official kickoff to Fall Fest! Hosted by the Office of the President.

Fall Festival

11am – 2pm Main Campus Lawn

(Rain Location: Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center)

Come on over to the Fall Festival! Make your own gel candle, try your hand at glass etching, or if you’re feeling bold, climb the rock wall! And be sure to check out many other fun activities. Featuring dozens of Student Organization fundraisers, live music, and much more, the Fall Festival is fun for everyone! Music of Cover Drive

12pm – 1:30pm Main Campus Lawn

(Rain Location: Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center)

A four-piece ensemble coming to us from the Island of Barbados, Cover Drive will be your new favorite band! The dance, pop group has gained massive popularity and world-wide success as an opening act for Rihanna’s “Loud Tour.” This band will surely be an experience you don’t want to miss and will leave you wanting more! Sponsored by the Campus Activities Board. 

OctoberFest Picnic

12pm – 2pm Main Campus Lawn

(Rain Location: West Campus Community Center, Alumni Hall)

Gather with current students, alumni, families and friends! Enjoy an assortment of your favorite picnic foods while listening to country music by Cover Drive! Admission for alumni, families and friends is just $9 per person, and current students may utilize their meal plan by pre-purchasing a ticket from Johnson Dining Hall! Sponsored by the Offices of Alumni Relations, Student Activities & Orientation. 

4th Annual Stepshow

2pm Main Campus Lawn

(Rain Location: Grumbacher Field House)

History and culture will ignite the York College campus as we host our annual Stepshow. Watch in awe the rhythmic and precise stepping of historically black Greek fraternities and sororities, as well as other Greek Letter organizations. You never know who may make a special appearance! Be prepared for greatness! Sponsored by the Office of Intercultural Student Life and Global Programming. 

Cultural Series: Prism Concert

4pm WPAC Theatre

Join us for a “PRISM” of sounds as the Division of Music presents a fun-filled afternoon program featuring a variety of styles performed by both student and faculty musicians. The Wind Symphony and Chorale will be joined by talented soloists and small groups, performing the best in jazz, pop, and traditional music styles. Sponsored by the Division of Music.

Mind Reading Duo: The Evasons

9pm DeMeester Recital Hall (Wolf Hall)

If you’re looking for some real mind-blowing entertainment, you’ve got to check out the Evasons. They’ve amazed live audiences and network TV viewers worldwide with their incredible feats of ESP, telepathy and levitation. Now it’s your turn to get psyched as they unleash the powers of the paranormal at York College! It’s the ultimate interactive show, taking audience participation to a whole new dimension.
