Elementary School Teacher

 

York Country Day School (YCDS) seeks an experienced and innovative one year, full-time kindergarten teacher for the 2015-2016 school year. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching young children, knowledgeable of early childhood cognitive developmental needs and appropriate practices, well versed in child centered learning, and capable of creating an environment that fosters a love of learning. The individual selected will be expected to motivate, assess, engage and develop student learning while managing the routine daily activities for kindergarten students.   Strong candidates possess:

• Bachelor or Master’s degree with a major in elementary education

• Minimum of three years teaching experience preferred

• A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth and personal development

• Experience with differentiated instruction and appreciation of each child as an individual with diverse needs • Experience integrating technology and applying 21st century learning within the classroom

PT Upper School Art Teacher grades 10-12

 

York Country Day School (YCDS) is seeking a Part-Time (29 hours/week) Art Teacher, to teach grades 10 – 12. Candidates must be energetic and collaborative, skilled in developing, planning, and facilitating the learning of and creation of art through diverse mediums, and have experience working with and teaching students in grades 10 – 12. All teachers attend meetings, attend to grades and record keeping, develop curriculum, and forward the mission of the school. Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred. YCDS is an affiliate of York College of Pennsylvania and a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
