Assistant Women's Field Hockey Coach
Part-Time Assistant Women’s Field Hockey Coach available, August, 2012. Responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of planning, managing and directing a successful varsity women’s field hockey program. Collegiate coaching and/or competition experience required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks. Team orientated with the ability to take the initiative. Duties will include, but are not limited to: assist with the day to day operations in the office and on the field coaching during practices and games; off season practices and commitments; administrative duties related to team travel, recruiting, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach. This is a stipend position with NO benefits. Bachelor’s degree required. The York College of Pennsylvania Office of Athletic Communications is looking to hire a graduate intern to fulfill a 10-month internship starting in the August of 2012. (This is a two year appointment). The successful candidate needs to possess a strong work ethic, an enthusiastic attitude and a long-term goal of working in a professional athletic communications capacity.
The intern will assist the Director of Athletic Communications as the primary contact for a number of Olympic sports. The intern duties will also include, but not be limited to, video journals and stories, game stories, assisting in scheduling live-game broadcasts, game-day operations, web maintenance, game programs, and general athletics news releases. York’s 22-sport athletic program is affiliated with NCAA Division III and the nine-school Capital Athletic Conference.
All prospective candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree. The position requires strong writing and desktop publishing skills in addition to experience with Stat Crew statistical software, Quark Xpress, iMovie video production, and Photoshop. The York College Office of Athletic Communications uses Apple computers and experience with the Mac platform is preferred. The position requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends.
The internship position at York College is a ten-month appointment running from August through May. The stipend will range from $7,000 to $9,000 depending on experience, and includes room and board and an on-campus meal plan.
